If you're writing your first novel or non-fiction work, concentrate on the story and let us clean up your grammar and spelling before you submit your work to an editor. It will make a much better first impression and likely increase the odds of your work being accepted.
If you want your readers to understand and enjoy your short stories, magazine articles, books (in both traditional and electronic format), recipes, etc., then rid them of poorly written prose. You can't gain a following if your text is misspelled or punctuated improperly.
